I have always been a story teller, I remember entertaining my friends and family with wild and fantastical stories even as a young girl. If I wasn’t writing, my nose would be buried in a book. 

My love for the written word expanded into a passion for effective communication. This led me to work in the Media and Communications industry as a copywriter. I have worked in event management, advertising, radio and I have also managed the website and social media profile for an international money transfer company. 

When I became a mum in 2012, my life changed. My career took a back seat as I dedicated my time and attention to raising my young boys. All my energies were focused on making sure they were happy, which resulted in pushing my needs right down to the bottom of the priority list. I had always been relatively fit and active but the stress of parenting had taken its toll. I had no energy, had low self-confidence and felt weak and tired all the time, coffee only took me so far! To create some headspace, I took to running and thrice a week and that has really changed my life. The fresh air and the ‘me’ time was rejuvenating. 

The energy I found through running helped me pick up writing again. I started to pick up projects - creating blog posts and social media content for small businesses. That’s when I came across RNT FItness. Their mission to spread their message  ‘physical is the vehicle’ really resonates with me, after all I had experienced that to a small degree in my own life with my running and yoga practice. 

Framing into words the varied and uplifting stories of RNT members resonates deeply; it fuels my desire to instil in my young family the benefits of being fit and healthy.
