How Yoga Instructor Agostina Lost Fat, Gained Muscle And Transformed Her Body at 61

When people see Agostina today, the reaction is almost always the same.

Disbelief… followed closely by curiosity.

She’s 61 years old, trains consistently, carries visible muscle definition, and moves with an ease and confidence many people half her age struggle to maintain.

But what makes her story powerful is what she’s disproved…

The idea that there’s an age where change stops being possible.

“Nobody believes I’m 61. I went for a blood test recently and the nurse looked at the paper and said, ‘You’re 61?! Oh my god.’”

Agostina looks younger than her age and feels different to how she ever has before.

“I don’t feel 61. That’s the thing.”

A Lifetime of ‘On and Off’ Fitness

Agostina didn’t grow up lifting weights or playing organised sports.

At school, there was no gym.

Exercise meant running around outside or doing floor-based drills.

When she moved to the UK, fitness entered her life in a familiar way: swimming, aerobics, step classes, cardio-heavy routines.

In the 90s, she even qualified as an aerobics instructor and taught classes in hired halls.

But consistency was always fleeting.

Training came and went. Months on, months off. Life, work, and other responsibilities took priority.

“It was never serious. I’d do it for a while, then stop, then start again.”

As she moved into her 50s, she found herself doing more but seeing less change.

Cardio classes kept her active, but her body composition stayed the same.

Strength, shape, and definition never really arrived.

In her early 60s, she was diagnosed with osteoporosis, a condition that quietly weakens bone density and increases fracture risk with age.

“I turned 60 and thought… nothing is changing anymore.”

That was the moment something shifted.

“I said, ‘If I don’t do it now, I never will.’”

Seventeen weeks later, Agostina walked into her RNT photoshoot leaner, stronger, and visibly more defined with lower body fat, more muscle, and a confidence she hadn’t felt in decades.

For the first time, she loved her reflection

“Nobody believes I’m 61… not even the nurse who took my bloods.”

Now, the reactions follow her everywhere.

Compliments from friends, double-takes from strangers, and even casual remarks at the supermarket.

But the biggest shift isn’t how others see her.

“When I saw the pictures, I said, ‘Oh my god… is it really my body?’”

For the first time, she saw visible muscle definition. Shape through her legs. Strength she’d never noticed before.

“I never wore shorts. I wasn’t comfortable with them. But when I saw the photos… I was shocked.”

Today, Agostina is stronger, leaner, and more confident than she ever was in her 30s or 40s.

But more importantly, she’s become a living counterargument to the belief that decline is inevitable.

“When people say they’re too old, I say ‘look at me.’”

She trains to protect her future.

“We don’t have that many years ahead. That’s even more of a reason to make the next 20 or 30 the best years of your life.”

At 61, Agostina found her strongest gear yet.
