For most of his adult life, Sumit lived in a cycle familiar to many high-achieving professionals:
Follow a plan for a few weeks, life gets busy, fall off, feel guilty, repeat.
“I was living a lethargic life. There was no structure. My days were full of carbs, sugar, and comfort food. And when stress hit, food became my coping mechanism.”
At 90kg and 41 years old, Sumit realised he was at a crossroads, not just for himself, but for his family.
“I wanted to be alive when my great-grandkids are born. I wanted to be the dad who could keep up. Not the one who falls asleep after a calzone.”
The Wake-Up Call
While he hadn’t received any medical warnings yet, Sumit had a growing fear in the back of his mind: if he didn’t change, he’d pay for it later.
His energy was low, his fitness was almost non-existent outside of cricket on the weekends, and his post-match recovery would take three full days.
“Every game I played on Saturday would wipe me out until Tuesday. I was carrying 26kg of excess weight and the mental load that came with it.”
It was around this time that he came across RNT Fitness.
“I’d seen transformations before. They looked like myths. Something that happened to other people on Instagram. But this one hit home. RNT spoke to everything I was struggling with.”
He took the plunge, signed up on the call (before even telling his wife!) and never looked back.
Building Structure: The Secret Ingredient
“I didn’t need another personal trainer for one hour a week. I needed a complete overhaul of how I lived.”
Before RNT, he tried personal trainers, gym classes, and even a few trendy diets. But none gave him the clarity, accountability, and system he needed.
Through RNT’s Five-Phase Methodology and personalised coaching, Sumit finally found what worked.
“Now, I wake up around 4:30–5:30AM. I walk 10,000 steps daily. I train with intent. I sleep better. I don’t feel tired all the time. And I’m confident that I’m doing what’s right for my body.”
More Than Just Fat Loss
Sumit lost 26kg in just over 8 months, dropping from 90kg to 64kg. But the numbers only tell part of the story.
“My daughter turned to me and said, ‘Dad, I can’t believe I’m saying this… but you’re gonna have abs.’ That moment meant more than any scale ever could.”
At work, he became sharper. On the cricket field, he moved up a division and batted for over 83 minutes, a feat that used to leave him gasping after two runs.
At home, he became a more present, active, and energetic dad.
“I went from passing out on tour buses to walking 30,000 steps a day on holiday. I started training with my kids. We’d go to the gym together, and I’d see my daughter increasing her weights each week.”

Work Travel Not an Excuse
One of Sumit’s biggest obstacles was frequent international travel.
With trips to Las Vegas, New York, Lisbon, and Delhi, his routine was often disrupted by hotel food, time zone shifts, and long-haul flights.
Before RNT, these trips meant five days of takeaways, skipped workouts, and overindulgence. But with the support of Coach Oliver and the RNT framework, everything changed.
“Every time I travelled, Coach Oliver would research my hotel and send me three nearby food options I could stick to. I didn’t have to guess. I didn’t have to spiral. I had a plan.”
Sumit now travels with purpose and structure.
He books hotels with gyms. He plans his steps. He trains early in the morning before meetings begin. Instead of travel being a setback, it became a proving ground for his new identity.
Redefining His Identity
Sumit wasn’t just trying to lose weight. He was trying to become the type of person who didn’t have to constantly start over.
The RNT journey gave him a new identity rooted in clarity, consistency, and long-term thinking.
“I used to be the guy who told myself, ‘I’ll get back on track next week.’ Now, I don’t need to get back on track. I’m on track.”
And when people ask how he stays motivated, Sumit is honest: it’s not about motivation anymore. It’s about who he is now.
He shows up daily. He walks. He trains. He eats with intention. He reflects. And he checks in with his coach every week, without fail.
Sumit has now moved into the Investment Phase.
He’s getting stronger. He’s building muscle. He’s shown it’s possible to transform your body and identity in your 40s, even as a dad, business owner, and frequent traveller.
“This isn’t a diet. It’s not a challenge. It’s the way I live now.”
Sumit didn’t find success because life slowed down. He created success by learning how to thrive within the chaos.
