High Performer Karen, Finds The Perfect Balance And Transforms Into Super Mum

Finding the perfect balance and maintaining it, takes time and constant dedication.

Karen had been seeking a holistic fitness programme to help her understand the nitty gritties of training and nutrition but had not been able to find a programme that ticked all her boxes.

When she came across RNT, she knew that this was exactly what she needed, especially since she had just become a mother. She knew that RNT’s principles would support hers and her young family’s health for the decades to come.

1. What were the series of moments that led to your “trigger” moment to begin your journey with RNT?

During the planning stages of my pregnancy, I wanted to ensure that I got it right and gave my baby the best possible start in life.

I was also fed up with not being happy and felt a strong desire to make a change, starting with myself.

I wanted to learn more about nutrition, have a good exercise routine and avoid any potentially disruptive behaviours that could affect my baby’s development.

2. What were your biggest problems before starting RNT?

Before starting with RNT, I struggled with how to approach food sensibly, especially with respect to eating out.

I found myself in cycles of under-eating to compensate for a meal out, and was preoccupied with my body weight and shape.

Looking back, I feel I may have even experienced some body dysmorphia.

Eventually, I learned to live with these struggles, but the constant bombardment of social media content about “proper” eating left me feeling overwhelmed and confused.

3. What has the process been like, and the biggest challenges and obstacles?

The RNT coaches are the driving force behind the process.

Their vast experience in coaching and training means they offer unique solutions that fit the needs of each individual. The educational content is well thought out, providing all the necessary tools for success.

The process is really like a conveyor belt; you either take what is offered and learn, absorb, and apply, or you don’t. The potential for learning and transforming is incredible if you’re willing to commit and put in the effort.

Starting my RNT journey with an 11-week-old newborn was both incredible and stressful. Along with the challenges of being a new mom, I was trying to find my rhythm and establish new routines while facing sleep deprivation.

The uncertainty of what was to come made it even more challenging, but I trusted in Mark (my husband) and his guidance to help me find my way.

As my baby grew, I had to adapt and change my routines and habits, but with the support of the RNT team, I was able to navigate these challenges and continue my transformation journey.

The coaches were incredibly supportive and helped to make the transition smoother. They provided tips on how to plan meals and training sessions around a busy schedule, and offered advice on how to manage stress and avoid burnout.

The accountability and support from the RNT community made a huge difference in staying motivated and consistent. While it wasn’t always easy, having the guidance and tools made it possible to achieve my goals even with a busy work schedule.

Returning to work three months into my RNT journey was tough, especially since I was still trying to adjust to motherhood. It didn’t help that I had to interview for a new team member on my first day back from maternity leave.

With so much going on, it was difficult to find my new rhythm as a working mum. However, with RNT’s support, I was able to navigate through these challenges and find a way to balance my personal and professional life.

As a busy individual, I found it difficult to find time to train. However, I have been determined to ensure that both Mark and I could get our sessions in.

Figuring out a routine was one thing but there were others that were a lot more demanding. Going through fat loss while being sleep deprived and stressed from my job have all been major obstacles that I have had to manage.

One particular challenge has been maintaining a healthy perspective on body weight. While it is important to focus on body weight as part of the fitness journey, I didn’t want to become fixated on it. I didn’t want unhealthy body weight issues to undermine my hard work and progress.

RNT’s focus on building a balanced, sustainable approach has helped me maintain a holistic outlook to fitness.

4. How has the physical been the vehicle?

Reaching peak level of performance requires careful introspection to gain clarity on what you want and how it fits in the bigger picture of your life.

Going through this journey takes dedication, focus, commitment, truth, honesty, openness, planning, and time management to go through this process.

Despite the challenges, there is laughter, fun, and camaraderie along the way, making it all worth it. Surprisingly, engaging with the cohort helped cement the “all-in” mindset with the process!

Ultimately, this is what life is all about - pushing oneself to be the best possible version of yourself in all aspects.
