“The physical is the vehicle”

 To unleash the power of the physical as the vehicle to transform your life, you need more than to just focus on your transformation checklist of:

  1. Eating quality nutrition in a calorie deficit/maintenance/surplus (goal dependent)
  2. Strength training 3 to 4 days per week
  3. Completing a minimum of 10,000 steps a day
  4. Sleeping 7 to 8 hours a night
  5. Drinking 3 to 4 litres of water a day

These are only but a few pieces of the puzzle. The bare basics.

Following the transformation checklist will no doubt bring with it a short-term physical change. It’s the social and industry norm. With commitment to the five items over a consistent period of time, reaching a checkpoint whereby you’re in the shape of your life is achievable for anyone.

But if you want to unlock the vehicle, you have to explore the richness of the entire RNT Transformation Journey.

If you want to learn how to master your mind and body to be in the shape of your life, for life, the transformation checklist is only the beginning. It’s merely but a few pieces of the puzzle.

The transformation jigsaw is a complex one. In our RNT Transformation Journey, we have over 25 moving pieces. While you may think all you’re going to get is the standard ‘training and nutrition’ plans, you quickly realise just how small a percentage piece of the puzzle they really are.

Each piece of the puzzle and each phase of the journey adds another layer and complexity. Each piece of the puzzle is just as important as the other. Without one piece, the jigsaw is incomplete.

If you’re missing accountability, who will humble you, guide you, and drive progressive action?

If you’re missing your 3Ss (structure, strategy, systems), how will you build your lifestyle around your highest priorities, and sustain everything you’ve built long after your first checkpoint? Creating new goals and challenges is great, but without your 3Ss in place, you’ll have no foundation, so will revert to square one. Your 3Ss will always be your baseline to fall back on.

If you’re missing ownership of your journey, how will you continue to take charge of your mind, body and life in the long term? We have to take ownership of everything we do, and the journey at its core teaches this.

I could go on with examples. Each piece of the puzzle is a required asset to being in the shape of your life, for life, and experiencing benefits that transcend the physical. If you want to use the physical as the vehicle, you have to value each piece of the puzzle equally. You have to understand that training and nutrition are only two small parts; once you ‘win’ those two pieces, you’ve got another 25+ to master. This journey isn’t a quick fix. It takes commitment, consistency and coachability – our three transformation keys.

I can’t lie and tell you it’s going to be easy. It’s brutally hard but incredibly rewarding, because when the pieces of the puzzle all join together, here’s what you gain:

Of the 25+ benefits in the newly transformed puzzle, only one is about the physical. Aesthetics. Everything else transcends.

With this transformed puzzle, you’re able to unlock the vehicle to transform all areas of your life.

With the newfound focus, confidence and control, you can grow your relationships, take charge of your career and inspire your loved ones. You can take all the benefits you’ve gained and use it for the greater good in your life.

You might notice some shared pieces in each stage of the puzzle’s evolution. Education, community and high performance are but a few. That’s because you have to be willing to learn and seek education in order to be educated. You need a community to begin with in order to have a strong, tight-knit community that continues to evolve and strengthen through the power of your journey. You need to create a high performance mindset before you can benefit from the power of being a high performer. The pieces interlink, share common places and all play their own part in different contexts.

This journey runs deep. Those who are brave enough to explore the depths of the journey and go all in are those who not only transform their bodies, but transform their lives. It’s a scary undertaking, and one that never stops. What may start off as a physical journey turns quickly into a lifelong pursuit of self mastery. The sizes and shapes of the puzzle will always change as your priorities, lifestyle and your why evolves. The journey will recycle and each time it does you’ll have to put the pieces of the puzzle together again.

This time all the inter-connecting points are different. The pattern is unfamiliar. All the sockets, holes, tabs and keys are new. What worked last time doesn’t anymore. You have to be adaptable to new environments and challenges. You have to be willing to wipe the slate clean and start again. That’s why I call this journey the greatest self development tool available.

The question is, are you ready to go on it?
