On Sunday I recorded a big podcast with a friend of mine titled:

9 things the public doesn’t ‘get’ about being vegan (but should).

It was off the back of a popular Instagram post a few months ago (reshared here for #WorldVeganDay yesterday) so I figured we’d go deeper.
I can’t wait to share it with you in a few weeks. It’ll be split into two parts but one overarching message I want to iterate is:

If you’re plant-based, or thinking about being more so, know that it’ll never impact your health and fitness gains!

In the meantime, let’s dive into this week’s Transformation Thursday…

3 Ways To Feel, Look & Perform Better (3 FAQs today…)

    1. Can you eat Indian food and still lose weight?
With Diwali around the corner, I get asked this often, so I figured I’d reshare our guide on it here.

If you’re looking for 3 tangible strategies for eating Indian food and staying in shape, try these:
    • Manage and/or replace the use of poor quality cooking oils (use a 1kcal spray instead)
    • Don’t forget the key missing ingredient - protein! (especially vegan/veggie meals)
    • Create a carbohydrate strategy (pick one source of carbs, don’t mix roti AND rice!)

    2. Can you socialise as a vegan?

If you’re going to an event you’re not in control of, chances of getting any protein as a vegan or veggie is pretty slim.

So I like to have an “insurance” protein shake before I go. I’ve found since turning vegan near 2 years ago, this is a great strategy when approaching social events where the only thing you might get as a vegan is a bunch of pasta or veggies 😅

Sounds simple, but this is super effective!

    3. Can you nail the process and still not lose any weight?

If you’re chasing fat loss and nailing everything, and by that I mean:
    • Training hard 3x a week
    • Sticking to your diet daily
    • Hitting your step target
    • Smashing your cardio
Then you should aim to lose 0.5-1% bodyweight per week.

The range will depend on stage of journey and your body size.

And if you’re outside the range, go back to the above list and make sure your adherence is spot on.

    Especially point 2.
